This project featured many complimenting styles and finishes as well as a selection of metals. Bronze panels were provided in a high copper content with a custom water jet pattern and book-matched over a 20’ height with an invisible support framing behind which served as the active air. The surfaces were custom finished in a “leather-like” patina.

The design intent for this project dictated a minimalism as it related to the stair stringer structure as well as an interest in seeing the glass “grow” from that structure revealing the full elevated profile of the stair treads and risers. In order to accomplish this, the stair's stringer sections were designed with a series of 1" and ½" steel plates that served to, both capture the monolithic glass panels and support the stair’s single story height span.

Florian’s craftspeople assisted our client with the completion of this custom structural glass and steel railing on the feature stair and second floor guard railings. The installation features a natural steel finish, antiqued and clear acrylic finish to preserve the natural beauty of the steel components as fabricated. The glass is ½” clear tempered with highly polished exposed edges creating a stunning yet clean feature within the lobby space.

During a recent renovation of the public spaces within the lobby of the hotel, Florian provided and installed numerous feature items complimenting the designer’s “more relaxed" space. The lobby bar, accented with polished brass and stainless steel along with the marble, antique mirror and polished stainless steel back bar becomes a focal point in the public gathering and eating place.

During the renovation of SFO T2 Florian provided many of the stainless steel accents in a satin finish. Some of the items included approximately six thousand lineal feet of base including the backing supports, stainless steel plate portals at vestibules and service / accessory wall panels throughout the terminal space.
